About meHello everybody :)
I love books, technology, music, films, fandom and writing. My stamping ground is a cross between a library, art gallery and a big mess. I love making new friends anywhere online and in RL so feel free to add me.

I read 192 books in 2008.

I challenged myself to read 200 books in 2009 and am slowly doing so :) My regularly updated list of my progress is here http://www.librarything.com/topic/56613. Feel free to join my 200 books in 2009 challenge group.

About my libraryEverything - there is an emphasis on fiction because of my illness, though. I need escapism more often than not. It's what books are for - I love how there are books and music and films for every mood and every occasion, there will always be something for everyone. I think that's awesome :) I'm a big fan of children's fiction, especially that centred around boarding schools, horses and ballet.

Please get in touch if you're interested in buying or swapping any of them :) The tag 'NMO' means 'not my own' so I've either sold on these books or borrowed them originally. All the other books are owned by me, so if you are in the UK feel free to make friends with me and borrow some :) As far as I can see all the other tags are fairly self-evident. I even retag things sometimes.

hey i just borrowed her book called 'Best Friends'. Is it any good?
wow! you have a ton of fave authors and books!
hey you said you live in london right? have you heard of the author [[Jacqueline Wilson]]? I read the book that she wrote called Candyfloss.
I quite like Pamela Cox's additions on the St Clares books. I've started on her MT books and they're not bad either. Have you tried those?
Liane on the CBB too (oh the imagination!) *waves*
Good that you liked Cobwebs and Cream Teas. Did the sequel ever arrive, so I'd get them at some point?
Sun Tracks
Atoni (Choctaw)

The Track of the sun
across the Sky
leaves its shining message,
Illuminating,
Strengthening,
Warming,
us who are here,
showing us we are not alone,
we are yet ALIVE!
And this fire......
Our fire.....
Shall not die
Have listed "Housewife" and emailed you the link, just mooch away when ready! :-)
No problem, I will add it later and then send you the linky to mooch!
Hi, Lydia!
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry, I didn't notice it until now with the flood of Early Reviewers posts and what-not.
I see you read 192 books in 2008, wow! I only got 143. I am trying for 150 this year...what's your goal? I wish I had more time to read!
Talk to you soon,
Lily
Hi Lydia, good to see I'm not the only one with an eclectic sort of approach to reading :-)

cheers,

Ascexis
Wow Lydia, your comment made me feel real good. Thanks. I had a lot of fun writing the book--wrote it 2x. First time about ten years ago) after my first book THE VIRGIN KNOWS came out. Then resurrected the book & re-wrote it when my daughter turned 19. I think it says a lot about the sorry, monstrous state of the music business.
You know, I was feeling so proud of my 140 books finished in 2008, until I saw your 192... (I really need to work on that competitive over-achiever thing)

I'm intrigued by the apparent lack of pattern in the books we share - it suggests we might have more in common than appears at first glance.
Thanks Lydia,
I really am a readaholic! About 1/2way through 2008, I began to write at least a short review of every book I read. This coming year, I intend to keep going. I'm having so much fun with it. If you're on goodreads, I'm jjmachshev there too. I enjoy the social aspect of GR and the site ease of LT!

Hi Lydia

I'm not a CBB member myself, though my mum (coastwalker), who shares custody of our vintage books, is. I'm very envious of the range of your collection, particularly the ballet books.

Jen
Hi,

Thanks for stopping by. We share a lot of books and a couple of favourite authors as well.

Happy reading!
Isabel
No problem. I thought it would be a good way to contribute. Glad you approve!
